Reuse first

Where your pallets go

Every load is sorted by size and condition, and each pallet takes the highest-value path it can:

  1. Reused. Sound pallets are graded and go back into service with businesses that need them.
  2. Re-homed. Odd sizes and mixed loads go to specialist buyers, such as freight and pallet reuse businesses, that can put them to work.
  3. Mulched. Timber that is too damaged to reuse goes to a timber recycler and is turned into mulch instead of going to landfill.

Plastic pallets are collected through our paid removal service and go to reuse or recycling.

How it works

  • Step 1 Send photos

    Email photos of your pallets to sales@toppallets.com.au or use our quote form.

  • Step 2 We assess

    We tell you whether your load qualifies for free removal, paid removal or mulching.

  • Step 3 Stack and load

    Stack similar pallets together in straight stacks of about 15. A forklift, or two people to load, is all it takes.

  • Step 4 Collected

    The truck collects on the booked day and your pallets are reused or recycled.

For sustainability teams

Certificates of Recycling for your ESG reporting

Ask for a Certificate of Recycling and we will issue one after every collection. It shows the pallet count, the estimated timber weight and the CO2-e avoided, with the method footnoted (Australian National Greenhouse Accounts Factors).

Need a year in one document? We also prepare period reports by site and by treatment pathway for sustainability and ESG teams, listing every collection with our job reference.

FAQs

Is pallet removal free?

Removal is free for 20 or more reusable Australian Standard (1165 x 1165 mm) or Euro pallets in metro areas. The minimum can depend on distance. Other pallets are collected through our paid removal service, quoted after we see photos.

Which pallets can you not take?

Completely broken pallets, loose timber and weathered pallets that are falling apart. A load should have no more than one or two broken boards per pallet across less than 10% of the pallets. Damaged loads can go to our mulching service instead.

How many pallets fit on one truck?

Up to around 210 pallets per truck. Larger quantities are collected over more than one truck.

Do you take plastic pallets?

Yes. Plastic pallets are collected through our paid removal service and are reused or recycled. Send us photos for a quote.

Which areas do you cover?

Metro Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. We do not currently service Tasmania. For regional sites, call us and we will see what we can do.

Can I get a certificate for our sustainability report?

Yes. We can issue a Certificate of Recycling for every collection, and a period report covering all your sites and collections for a financial year or half year.
